Conference Great Britain in world history

Faculty of History, Philosophy and Arts (Institute of Humanities, NCFU) held an event to mark the Year of Britain in Russia (which is respectively celebrated in Great Britain). The conference theme was Great Britain in world history (organizers: Prof. Anikeev, Associate Prof. Sadchenko, and Associate Prof. Korobkina).

This event brought together teachers students, and postgraduates representing the NCFU, the South Federal University, the Vitebsk State University (Belarus), the Russian State Institute for Humanities, and many other educational institutions.

The plenary meeting included the speeches delivered by Prof. Anikeev (Evolution of History Science & Education in Great Britain in late ХХ – early XXI Centuries); Prof. Kiselyev (British Police as Major Factor for Police Integration Within EU), and Prof. Plokhotnyuk (Edinburgh Mission in North Caucasus in XIX Century: Reasons & Results).

Over 60 speeches were delivered and discussed at the three sections after which the best speakers got their certificates.

The purpose of this conference was to introduce the audience to the culture of Great Britain and to foster further studies of this field conducted at the NCFU, as well as to expand students’ skills in leading discussion.
