NCFU Rector’s Report on Performance Over 2013

Rector Alina Levitskaya delivered her report performance of the NCFU IN 2013 – results, issues, objectives for 2014.

The audience included not only the Academic Board of the NCFU but also MPs Olga Kozakova and Viktor Goncharov, Rector of Stavropol State Agricultural University Vladimir Trukhachev, and Rector of Stavropol State Medical University Valentina Muravieva.

Alina Levitskaya started her speech with words of thanks t the entire staff of the NCXFU for their contribution and hard work, which allowed achieving nearly all of the objectives set for 2013 – 21 out of 22 items from the Development Programme 2012-2014, and 10 out of 12 major tasks set.

In 2013 the NCFU successfully completed its accreditation and the University is ahead of the standard criteria in many areas (e.g. the average rate of the employees with a scientific degree is 77% while the standard norm is at 67%). The average age of the NCFU employees is 44, which is the best result among all the federal universities of Russia. On September 1, 2013 the NCFU opened its doors to 28,585 students, which is nearly double the standard stated in the Programme (15,000). besides, there was a lot of focus on career guidance activities, which both improved the average entrance test result by 5.8 points and increased the number of applicants (6,2 persons per 1 student vacancy). 24,6339 schoolers and 3,028 NCFU students joined various academic Olympic contests.

Special measures were taken to improve the training offered, and the number of Master’s courses went up from 38 to 47. Besides, the NCFU joined a special agreement with other federal universities thus enabling its students continue their education in any other Russian federal university once they enter the NCFU.

16 of the educational programmes offered at the NCFU entered the list of the top best academic programmes in Russia, and 14 NCFU students were awarded President’s Scholarship, while another 20 got their special scholarships from the Government of Russia.

The NCFU conducted lots of work with potential employers and only 1.8% of its graduates were in the risk group for not getting employed as soon as they left the University.

Apart from the academic activities the NCFU showed huge success in scientific and international activities increasing the financing for the research projects run at its Institutes and getting highest awards at various international shows and contests.

Last year the NCFU joined the European Association of Universities, Association for Leading Universities, Association of Technical Universities (Alina Levitskaya entered the Presiding Board) as well as a number of other unions.

When talking about the financial activities Alina Levitskaya noted that the average salary paid at the NCFU went up around 1.5 times, and many students pertaining to the underprivileged groups received their special benefits.

The NCFU Academic Board together with the guests expressed their appreciation and noted that the report delivered was extremely reasoned and well-structured. Rector of Stavropol State Agricultural University Vladimir Trukhachev added that the NCFU and the University he represents could join their efforts for closer cooperation and their achievements then could be used to resolve many issues – from food supplies to sociological research.

Finally, Alina Levitskaya mentioned that the NCFU proved its high title of a federal university.
