Alina Levitskaya, the NCFU Rector had a meeting with the student body to answer their questions.

When will they serve hot catering in Building 9? How should the student rating system be improved? Are there going to be Xerox machines available soon? These just like many other questions got their answers.

Young representatives of all the NCFU Institutes together with Ivan Paltsev (Head of Student Council) came to the Scientific Council Assembly Hall to meet Pro-Rectors and Heads of the Departments responsible for the major functions within the NCFU.

The students had numerous urgent questions, such as opening an office supplies at the NCFU (the answer was that in the nearest future such shops will be started in Buildings 2 and 9), and having Xerox machines available for students (Vladimir Shapovalov, Pro-Rector for Financial & Economic Activities promised that the cost for a page of copy would not exceed 3 Rubles, while the machines themselves would be available in computer room and in the Library).

Other issues discussed were about having hot catering at Building 9, having a cloakroom in Building 7, and a huge puddle you have to jump over every time you try to reach the dormitories. As the Pro-Rectors explained resolving such issues takes more time and effort than it may seem necessary, yet they will do their best to resolve them soon, and Alina Levitskaya told them not to pigeonhole all these points.

When the students asked about having a soccer field they were promised they would get one yet only after they got a swimming pool. However, there will be no other smoking areas at the NCFU because the position taken by Rector Alina Levitskaya is a strong one the Federal University is the Territory of Health. Besides she told the audience that they are working on reestablishing the Department for Military Training, so all those willing could get the Private or the Sergeant rank (after a year and a half and two years of military training respectively) together with a degree. Those who get the training at the NCFU shall not be recruited to the army.

When asked about the new rating system, Valentin Shipulin, Pro-Rector for Academic Activities, explained the specific features of the system in question and said that this summer examination session already the system will grant so-called automatic EXAM PASSEDs to all those who truly qualify academically and perform respectively.

At the close of the meeting Rector Alina Levitskaya asked the student body to join the project State single examination-2014 launched by the Russian Union of Youth, "If you truly ready, please join the work. We will not make anyone do that, of course, but the State Department for Monitoring in Education is asking for help, and they want our students to help them. This is an expression of trust to our University, we shall be up to this trust, Alina Levitskaya was quoted as saying.
