Physics Olympiad Winners Named

The Institute for Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the NCFU has held Olympiad for school students Physics rules the world. The event gathered schoolers from the entire Stavropol region.

The Olympiad was opened by Yury Dikansky, Head of Dept for General Physics. He told the participants about the options offered at the NCFU, potential employment following graduation, and research laboratories available for young scientists.

On Day 1 the contestants demonstrated their theoretical knowledge while on Day 2 they had to conduct some lab tests, which is absolutely natural as Physics is a field of experiments.

Artur Zakinyan, Associate Professor of Dept for General Physics, said that the event helps future applicants make a better choice about their professional life, and such events are not just used to detect the most prominent ones yet also introduces children into the world of University studies.

Antonina Anzina (9th Grade, Village of Manychskoe) said: First of all, this Olympiad expands my range of interests and this is very useful for passing my final exams at school. I also came to know more about the largest educational institution in our region, so now I have made up mind concerning where to get a degree. And, actually, I am not sure what I like more – Physics of Computer Technology.

Antonina is the winner among 9th Graders, so her first step towards the Students Community has been done!
