Date of material placement: 29-04-2013, 10:33.

Polina Gritsishchuk, third-year student of Institute of Humanities, prospective teacher of foreign languages and cultures who took the second place at the beauty contest of North-Caucasus Federal University and won the honourable title "Miss Spectators’ Sympathy”.

to tell how to become a beautiful girl and winner.

- I always wanted to get on a stage, - she says. –There was an announcement: our university prepares competition among talented people. I submitted a request – I want to take part in the competition. My candidacy was supported by Oksana Borisova, Deputy Director for Educational Activities at Institute of Humanities. Two other girls were also going to represent our institute at the competition, but they had no such a strong desire, as I had. Thus only I, one of 12 participants, represented Institute of Humanities.

Fashion parade in evening dresses was one of the tasks …

- But models are specially trained to walk on a stage in a special way. Was it a problem for you?

- No, I walked as I could. It is obvious the main task was not to move one’s legs in a right way. Most of all I and all girls were afraid of the task with questions. There were rumours that the questions would be so highly intellectual that one couldn’t understand them… I was lucky, they asked me what I preferred: to do my nails or to wash up.

- What was your answer?

- Certainly, to wash up. Why do you smile? I really like it.

I am sorry that I cast my eye (I hope she took no notice of it) on my interlocutor’s hands and testify: she has very unusual and elegant nails. It is obvious beauty isn’t an obstacle for work, if you know how to do it.

- Perhaps the creative competition was decisive. It was necessary to invent something absolutely original that nobody would be able to repeat. I dance in "Smile” ensemble. However, one cannot surprise anybody with choreography even if it is sport choreography. Then I thought up and performed the act with a three-meter boa.

- Where did you take the snake from?

- My friends have got it. They gave it to me for the competition.

- Were you afraid of it? It is a serious creature.

- No, we tied up its mouth. Its behavior was loyal in general. After such "innovation” I was acknowledged as Vice-Miss NCFU. The results of the poll on NCFU’s website showed that I had won spectators’ sympathy.

Now I am invited to participate in the All-Russian competition "Miss Student of the Russian Federation”. I will compete for Stavropol region in Ulyanovsk. In 2012 the competition took place in Chelyabinsk.

- Will you think up something unusual for the creative competition again?

- By all means. Now I am going to perform an act with tigers, - Polina laughs. – It is necessary to get acquainted with the Zapashny brothers to let kitties come with me. I shall not offend them.

- May I ask you a serious question? Now you have two ways to follow: a stage or a podium and the career of a teacher of a foreign language and culture. What will you choose?

- I went to Stavropol school No. 1. Very serious attention is paid to foreign languages there. Teachers fostered interest and love for other countries and dialects. I had 215 points in three subjects entering an institution of higher education. I gave lessons several times – my friend fell ill and asked me to replace her. I managed to be in contact with children. Probably, I will be a teacher. Everything is interesting for me: to participate in competitions; to dance in the ensemble – today I go to Sochi with our team; to enter a classroom where I introduce another culture, unusual speech logic and communication to children…

I was talking to the charming, smiling girl and thinking: "It turns out to win the beauty contest, it isn't enough to have a nice face and body. It is necessary to combine knowledge, ability to think, create, sing and dance. The most important thing is that a person should be interested in everything, he should have interesting life.”
