The meeting of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region was held in scientific and educational centre of photovoltaics and nano-technologies of North-Caucasus Federal University. Chairman of Youth Committee of Stavropol region Irina Shatskaya, Chairman of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region Vitaly Morozov, Chairman of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of NCFU, Director of Institute of Construction, Transport and Engineering Andrei Bratsikhin, postgraduate students, students, representatives of Councils of Young Scientists and Specialists from institutions of higher education in Stavropol region took part in that meeting.

Head of Department for Scientific Research Management of Young Scientists and Students Oleg Kovalenko welcomed the participants of the meeting on behalf of the Rector’s personnel office and emphasized that the doors of NCFU were always open for scientists.

Irina Shatskaya awarded participants of the meeting with the young scientist’s cases as a kind of prize and badge of merit.

– Now you will be able to recognize each other with the help of these cases and know that you belong to the elite of our society. Young people who do scientific research are the future of our region, our country. Your contribution to the progress of science is invaluable. I would like to remind you that our committee will support all your ideas and projects. That’s why you can move forward, create, discover and research.

Vitaly Morozov told about plans of the council’s activity, presented the regional school of young innovator which could be helpful to prepare for "UMNIK” competition.

The first and main question on the agenda was approval of 2013 work plan of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region. The planned events included regional school of young innovator, regional research and practice conference of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region and its accreditation on "UMNIK” programme, participation of young scientists in competitions and grants at regional and federal levels, popularization of science, cooperation with mass media, etc. Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of NCFU offered to add the following issues into the plan: festival of scientific and technical activities of young people from Stavropol region, round table on establishment of small innovation enterprises under universities.

The next speaker was Secretary of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region I.A. Tarasova who presented the regional forum "Manage the Future” which would take place on March 27 in "Progress” expo centre and be held as the business game.

Chairman of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol Research Antiplague Institute (StavNIPCHI) D.A. Kovalev reported on cooperation with Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region within the framework of scientific and educational centre of medical and biological problems.

Head of the working group on legislative initiatives of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Stavropol region, Deputy Director of Institute of Law at NCFU, M.S. Trofimov told about consideration of the draft law "On state support of the gifted children and young people in Stavropol region”.

All participants of the meeting discussed the planned issues, exchanged their contact information, asked questions, disputed and arrived at the truth. Finally the work plan of young scientists was approved and should be realized.
