Russian Students' Day at NCFU

Date of material placement: 25-01-2013, 12:29.

Russian Students' Day was joyously and noisily celebrated at North-Caucasus Federal University. The celebration program was very rich.

"Tatyana's Day – we are too lazy to study!" – under this motto student festival was held in the Victory Park of the regional center, organized by Youth Department of Stavropol Administration, "Springboard" youth initiatives center and the patriotic education center of city youth. Our activists made themselves known at the exhibition of student art automobiles, presented their fleet and all those, who wished to "stretch their bones”, went at the rink to the competition called "Ice Wars”. As a result NCFU students were acknowledged the best in the category of "Terror of ice" and won the Grand Prix at the end of all competitions. Between "pirouettes" and funny contests students drank tea and enjoyed performance of modern dance studio "Maximum" and other creative teams of the city.

At the same time one could see unprecedented enlivening in the lobby of North-Caucasus Federal University: "Planet of NCFU” station game was in full swing. To the cheerful music the guys passed "stations” with pleasure: they confirmed their knowledge about the university, built the logo of the university from puzzles, wrote poems and even contrived a movie of the proposed frames. Students went to the "shop”, where they exchanged cherished tokens, which they got for their skills, for souvenirs with NCFU symbols. If you earned 22 tokens, beautiful mug is yours!

Being tired of running and laughing happy children hurried to the assembly hall of the university, where a holiday concert was ready to start. For the sake of the solemn date the organizers decided to go back for a short period of time to the days, when foundation of higher school of the Russian Empire was laid. Moreover, the chosen approach was quite extraordinary: Mikhail Lomonosov, Count Ivan Shuvalov and even the Empress Elizabeth were on the stage. Her Majesty’s Decree was read: "On Tatyana's Day no one can put obstacles in students’ way, in accordance with the empress’s order doors of all eating-houses and restaurants should be open to them. Cabmen should take merry students not to the police stations but to home and free of charge!"

Historical heroes congratulated the audience on the holiday and gave the floor to the Rector of North-Caucasus Federal University, Alina Levitskaya: "Dear students! I wish today you can be the freest and happiest people, because this holiday is the shortest in life of each person. I would like you during this wonderful student time could love sincerely, be real friends and be devoted to those ideals of good, morality, decency and justice that are so high and unblemished only in childhood, adolescence and youth. I wish that those, meeting whom you feel fullness of life, enter your life forever. Because those are the most important, warm and reliable people in life, whom you have known since school and student time. I congratulate you on the holiday!"

Awarding ceremony of participants and winners of "Miss Tatyana of NCFU-2013” contest and "I’m NCFU student" photo competition was held in a solemn atmosphere. According to the results of the Internet voting the representative of Institute of Law, Tatyana Zuyeva and the student of Institute of Oil and Gas, Maxim Minakov became the best. Student Council of the university also сhose its winners: they were Tatyana Bogoslovskaya from Institute of Humanities and Roman Uvarov, the student of Institute of Information Technologies and Telecommunications.

Alina Levitskaya presented honorary certificates and gifts to the winners and called all students to give their ideas on how to celebrate Tatyana's Day: "I want our university has its own traditions of Students' Day celebration, so we could celebrate it like no other university in the country. And the best project will be awarded Rector's special prize. Go ahead!"

It was not the last surprise. The best creative teams of the university, laureates of All-Russian and international competitions made the audience happy with their performances. Students and teachers met "Cossack freedom" dance group with a thunderous ovation. The group brilliantly performed the Russian folk dance called "Barinya”, studio of Latin American dance called "Talisman” won the audience with sensual bachata. "Extreme" pop and sport dance studio performed an unforgettable show: amazing plastique and absolutely incredible support boggled imagination and took breath. Humorous sketch of "Debut" team, which presented potpourri from movies by Gaidai, made the audience happy.

Scheduled hours were not enough: the students were reluctantly breaking up, but they were full of positive emotions. Both students and all those, who became participants of that funny event, will remember the first Tatyana's Day at new NCFU for a long time.
