One of them, Basil Skakun noted in his speech that during the Soviet period "many countries would like to borrow our experience, to see in reality how world champions had been prepared". For many years the Russian coaches were training the British athletes, who achieved excellent results. "We have a new form of cooperation: for three consecutive years the English Federation of Gymnastics has sent the best coaches to us for their training.
